Use kefir to make Probiotic Ice Cream
A great way to consume kefir is of course in ice cream! Kefir is what gives my Chocolate Probiotic Ice Cream such an interesting flavor kick. It can also be used in fruity flavors of ice cream too.
Ingredients

- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup heavy cream

- 1 tsp. vanilla extract

- Chill the mixture.
- Serve and enjoy!
HOW TO MAKE CREAMIER ICE CREAM:
- First of all, add in some fat. Adding some cream or even kefir-ed cream, helps to make a smoother ice cream. Too much cream, though, can make the ice cream have a buttery texture, though, that leaves you with a strange feeling in your mouth when you eat it.
- Adding eggs in, even if you don’t cook them into a custard, makes for a smoother ice cream because the proteins in the eggs help keep ice crystals from forming.
- Have your mixture thoroughly chilled before putting it into the ice cream maker. Starting with a cold mix helps make for a smoother ice cream in the end.

In crux , Kefir can be used just about anywhere that buttermilk, yoghurt or cream cheese may be used. Other great ways to use kefir are:
- To tenderize meat instead of yoghurt
- Served with fruit
- In a cold soup
- In an ice cream recipe
- Poured over cereal
- Used instead of yoghurt to make anything
- In a healthy milkshake recipe
- As a leavening agent
- In place of buttermilk in baking
- In a salad dressing
- In a pasta sauce
- To make probiotic drinks
- Substitute it for buttermilk in any recipe.
- Use milk kefir to soak flour or grain overnight, before cooking or baking.
- Use it as a salad dressing. Because of the acidity and fat content, milk kefir makes a great salad dressing on its own or with a simple addition of garlic, herbs, or spices.
- Use it as a marinade. Milk kefir can be used to tenderize and flavor meat. Or dip chicken in milk kefir before breading it, for a juicier piece of fried chicken.
